Sabbatical Number 2 - Starting Shortly

What? Wasn't I just on Sabbatical? How time flies when you're having fun or just working your butt off for 6 years. One of the AWESOME things about working for my company: I get a 2 month paid sabbatical every 7 years.  Yes, 6 years since the last one doesn't add up. You have 3 years after you are eligible to take your sabbatical.  On my first sabbatical, I waited until the last year to take it. This time around, I'm only a year late.

So, what am I doing this time? Not a whole lot, just running around Europe for 6 weeks.  Right now the schedule looks like this:

  • In Ireland for 13 days exploring the country side with my parents. We're landing in Dublin, staying 2 nights then renting a car to head out. My parents have rented 3 houses around Ireland as bases of operations for heading out on day trips to explore.
  • 5 days in London, again with my parents. I am hoping I can get tickets to a FA Cup match that Saturday, matters who's playing where and if I can buy tickets when I'm in Ireland.
  • After London my parents are heading back to the States and I'm hopping the Chunnel to Paris, France. I'll be staying there for 3 nights, 2 solid days. I'm planning to at least see the Louvre and explore as much as I can.
  • After Paris, I'm hopping on another train down to Barcelona, Spain and staying there for 4 nights.  I have tickets that Saturday to see Barcelona FC play Rayo Vallecano at Camp Nou. I just checked, and they pulled the game in from Sunday, my birthday, to Saturday.
  • Then I don't have anything concrete planned.  I would like to go to Rome, Italy, but I'm not exactly sure what I'll be doing. Just matters what I'm feeling like after I'm done exploring Barcelona.
I plan to sporadically post on my blog during my travels. But sometimes, I just don't have the time/patience to sit down and write out a long post about some crazy, or not so crazy thing that happened. But I should have good internet connection and will be posting photos up on Flickr here:
